Certificate II in Horticulture

This course is for people who are currently employed in a horticultural workplace, and have a training contract. You could complete the full Certificate II in Horticulture within fifteen (15) months on the job. Depending on you and your employer’s needs, learning may be on-the-job, off-the-job or a combination of both.

Qualification Includes

This qualification consists 15 units - 2 core units and 13 elective units.

Participate in OHS processes (AHCOHS201A)
Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices (AHCWRK209A)

Elective Units (a common selection of elective units is below)

Apply chemicals under supervision (AHCCHM201A)
Plant trees and shrubs (AHCPGD201A)
Undertake propagation activities (AHCNSY203A)
Lay paving (AHCLSC204A)
Recognise plants (AHCPCM201A)
Maintain property and structures (AHCINF203A)
Operate basic machinery and equipment (AHCMOM203A)
Determine basic properties of soil and/or growing media (AHCSOL201A)
Operate and maintain chainsaws (AHCARB205A)
Prune shrubs and small trees (AHCPGD203A)
Maintain indoor plants (AHCNSY204A)
Treat weeds (AHCPMG201A)
Assist with the operation of pressurised irrigation (AHCIRG202A)
