This streamlined program has been developed specifically for the Disability sector in Tasmania. It is designed for workers who have completed medication training previously and are currently administering medication.
In preparation for the course participants are required to refresh their theory knowledge by reading the Skills Institute course book (supplied prior to the training day). Supervisors are asked to complete a testimonial verifying the participant's continuous and current assistance with medication administration in the workplace.
Please note that although the delivery time is shorter than the full three day course, the assessment will still include work place evidence, written assessment and practical assessment.
In an event that a participant is unsuccessful in completing the unit, we will advise enrolment in the next three day medication course with the support of the organisation. We will recommend that the participant does not administer medications in the interim.
