Outcome

Statement of Attainment: selected units - Handle Waterproofing Materials (CPCCWP2001A), Use Waterproofing Tools and Equipment (CPCCWP2002A),Prepare Surfaces for Internal Waterproofing (CPCCWP2004A), Apply Waterproofing Process to Internal Wet Areas (CPCCWP3002A).

Prerequisites

Participants must have a White Card - selected unit “Work Safely in the Construction Industry” (CPCCOHS1001A), the unit ‘Apply OH&S requirements, policies and procedures’ (CPCCOHS2001A). (Credit transfer or Gap training is offered for persons not having this prerequisite unit).

Successful completion of  this nationally accredited skill set will enable participants to develop the skills and knowledge required to prepare and install waterproofing membranes to internal wet areas. They will learn about the safe use of tools and materials used in the industry, regulations and procedures relating to the waterproofing of internal wet areas.

Assessment will include a practical installation of a liquid membrane and a written assignment. 

Participants will learn to:

  • Prepare for waterproofing process
  • Calculate material quantities
  • Prepare a variety of substrates
  • Carry out the installation of liquid membranes
  • Clean-up work site.
  • Contribute to and use documentation in line with regulatory requirements
