The purpose of this course is to provide the underpinning knowledge and skills to perform scaffolding (basic) safely. It will prepare the participant for a National High Risk Work Licence (Scaffolding Basic) issued by Workplace Standards Tasmania.
The scope for this certificate is associated with the following: prefabricated scaffolds; cantilevered hoists (max. WLL 500kg materials only); ropes; gin wheels; safety nets and static lines; and bracket scaffolds (tank and formwork).
Participants will learn:
Successful participants are able to apply for National High Risk Work Licence (Scaffolding basic) as issued by Workplace Standards Tasmania under the Work Health and Safety Act 2012.

Outcome: | Statement of Attainment for “CPCCLSF2001A Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding (basic level)” and an Interim Licence to Perform High Risk Work (Scaffolding Basic). |

Prerequisites: | Participants must be from 18 years of age and comply with the requirements outlined in the application for high risk work (GF083) published by Workplace Standards Tasmania and have a satisfactory level of literacy and numeracy. Protective work wear must be worn for the practical assessment (safety boots, gloves and helmet). |
Location: | Can be delivered in the workplace or at the Clarence, Alanvale and South Burnie training facilities. |
Cost: | $1,395 per person (course prices for single employer groups are negotiable). This does not include the licence fee payable upon successful completion at Service Tasmania |
