Tasmanian Training Awards

The Skills Institute wins Apprentice of the Year and the Trainee of the Year at the Tasmanian Training Awards!

The Skills Institute is proud to announce that Apprentice of the Year was won by Jason Bryan (TasTec) and Trainee of the Year by Elizabeth Ziegler (Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens).

Good luck to Jason and Elizabeth who will now represent Tasmania in the national Australian Training Awards held in Sydney.

The Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of apprentices, trainees and vocational students.  Their success would not be possible without the contribution of trainers, training organisations and employers, who aim for excellence in providing vocational education and training.

The Tasmanian Training Awards gala presentation dinner was held at Wrest Point on Friday 3 September 2010.

Congratulations to all our finalists in the following categories:

Apprentice of the Year: Jeremy Ditcham (Austal Ships), Brendan Sherriff (Tasmanian Ports Corporation), Matthew Sykes (Fairbrother Pty Ltd), Marcus Perkins (Fairbrother Pty Ltd), James Huddlestone (Civic Solutions), Patrick Edwards (Federal Group), Steven Lampard (Macquarie Builders) and Marc Brockman (PSG Russell Smith).
