This qualification is suitable for people who apply advanced practical knowledge to coordinate, facilitate and maintain the work health and safety (WHS) program in one or more fields of work in an organisation, such as a WHS practitioner or HR practitioner. They may work under the guidance of an occupational health and safety professional. 

Course Includes

This qualification consists of 8 units (5 core and  3 elective units) 

Core units (compulsary)

  • Apply legislative frameworks for WHS (BSBWHS601A)
  • Facilitate WHS activities (BSBWHS602A)
  • Implement WHS risk management (BSBWHS603A)
  • Evaluate the WHS performance of organisations (BSBWHS604A)
  • Develop, implement and maintain WHS management systems (BSBWHS605A)

Elective units

  • Manage organisational change (BSBINN601B)
  • Develop and implement strategic plans (BSBMGT616A)
  • Conduct WHS audits (BSBWHS606A)
  • Apply ergonomics to manage WHS hazards and risks (BSBWHS607A)
  • Assist with applying occupational hygiene to manage WHS hazards and risks (BSBWHS608A)
