This course is for people who are currently working in the Rural Industry and wish to gain a qualification. You could complete the full Diploma of Agriculture within two (2) years. Depending on you and your employer’s needs, learning may be on-the-job, off-the-job or a combination of both. 

Course Includes

A total of 10 units of competency must be completed.  A common selection of elective units may include the following taken from over 100 available units of competence: 

  • Manage staff (AHCBUS501A)
  • Manage livestock production (AHCLSK501A)
  • Develop a whole farm plan (AHCAGB505A)
  • Develop and manage a chemical use strategy (AHCCHM501A)
  • Prepare and monitor budgets and financial reports (AHCBUS508A)
  • Manage OHS processes (AHCOHS501A)
  • Manage agricultural crop production (AHCBAC501A)
  • Prepare estimates, quotes and tenders (AHCBUS504A)
  • Monitor and manage soils for production (AHCSOL501A)
  • Design drainage systems (AHCDRG501A)
  • Plan and manage long-term weed, pest and/or disease control in crops (AHCBAC505A)
