Location

Online, with assessment in the workplace or at our training facilities in Launceston, Hobart or Devonport. Or, flexible workplace delivery and training for groups of 8 or more.

Cost

$270 per person. Course prices for single employer groups are negotiable.

Duration

Online (15 hours self-paced) or 1.5 days.

Course runs over 1.5 days.  First day is 12 noon - 5pm, second day is 9am - 5pm.

HOBART: 27 and 28 May.

LAUNCESTON: 16 and 17 September.

DEVONPORT: 1 and 2 May.

This course provides the essential skills required by food handlers, supervisors and managers in the food industry to manage an on-site Food Safety Plan. You may work at a restaurant, hotel/club, cafe, takeaway/fast food outlet, food manufacturer/processor, nursing home or hospital, school canteen, commercial/industrial cafeteria or market. This course may be completed at our training facilities, on-the-job or via project based work.

Participants will learn:

  • To develop and implement a Food Safety Plan.
  • To understand legal obligations relating to personal, environmental and food hygiene.
  • To understand and implement quality control mechanisms in relation to cleaning and maintenance.
  • To effectively manage receiving and storage of produce.
  • To design standard operating procedures.
  • To design and implement HACCP based Food Safety Plans.
