Work Health and Safety (WHS) is about ensuring safe and healthy working conditions, and preventing illness and injury in the workplace.
With the new Work Health and Safety Act 2012 coming into effect in Tasmania on January 1, this course will give participants an overview of the new Work Health and Safety Act 2012, its regulations and codes of practice.
There is a serious misconception that the new laws are a large change from the previous laws and will mean big changes for business, which is not the case.
This course aims to demystify the changes to the laws, and provide participants with a better understanding of the changes and how they affect their workplace.
Topics covered will include:
-
The reasons for the change of legislation,
-
Major differences between the old and new which involve major changes in terminology, penalties, consultation & a greater emphasis on Codes.
