Outcome

A Statement of Attainment. Selected units "Enter Confined Spaces" (MSAPMPER205C), "Observe Permit Work" (MSAPMPER200A), "Work in Accordance with an Issued Permit" (MSAPMPER200C), "Work Safely" (MSAPMOHS200A).

Prerequisites

You must wear appropriate personal protective equipment. You will need to supply a workplace testimonial to confirm practical competence. If this is not possible participants must undergo a practical assessment.

Location

At the Hobart, Launceston, Burnie and Devonport training facilities.

Cost

$110 - $180 per person (depending on refresher duration). Course prices for single employer groups are negotiable.

Duration

Half day - One day (depending on individual competence).

This refresher course is designed for those who work in, on or around confined spaces and have previously completed training in confined space entry. Participants will
review the knowledge and practical skills needed to continue to operate safely within these confines.

Participants will learn:

  • How to perform a risk assessment.
  • Confined space safe work practices and standby functions.
  •  About the health effects relating to confined space work.
  • To correctly use rescue equipment including tripods, entry and retrieval systems.
  • About atmospheric hazards, testing techniques using specified devices and the correct use of respiratory protection.
  • The respective state or territory legislation relevant to confined spaces including OH&S Legislation Act 1995, Regs 1998, As2865:2009.
