The purpose of this course is to provide the skills necessary to operate cranes safely. It will prepare the participant for Worksafe Australia certification requirements.

Participants are able to apply for a Licence to Perform High Risk Work in the selected classification as issued by the state regulator under the Workplace Health and Safety Regulations 1998.

Crane classifications:

  • Vehicle Loading Crane (CV).
  • Bridge and Gantry (CB).
  • Non Slewing (CN).
  • Slewing (C2, C6, C1, CO).

Participants will learn:

  • To plan and prepare work.
  • How to operate cranes (in a selected classification/type).
  • To select equipment.
  • To connect lifting gear.
  • About movement of plant and equipment.
  • To move and position loads.
  • To remove slings and lifting accessories.
