This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to undertake electrofusion welding of pressurised polyethylene pipelines in accordance with Australian Standards and manufacturers’ specifications. These skills are often applied in the following industries:

  • Gas distribution and gas fitting.
  • Water reticulation and treatment.
  • Irrigation.
  • Mining.
  • Agriculture and aquaculture.

Participants will learn:

  • About the OHS requirements when undertaking polyethylene electrofusion.
  • About the properties and characteristics of polyethylene pipe.
  • To pre-weld pipe cleaning and joint surface removal techniques.
  • About correct fusion and cooling times according to Australian Standards.
  • About approved weld requirements.
