Outcome

A Statement of Attainment. Selected unit “Conduct Basic Scaffolding Operations” (RIIHAN211A).

Prerequisites

You must be 18 years of age or over for Worksafe Australia accreditation with satisfactory literacy and numeracy skills. You must wear protective work wear (safety boots and gloves) for the practical assessment.

Location

At your work site or at the Clarence, Alanvale and Burnie training facilities.

Cost

$675 per person. Course prices for single employer groups are negotiable.

Duration

Four days.

The purpose of this course is to provide the underpinning knowledge and skills to perform basic scaffolding safely. It will prepare the participant for Worksafe Australia certification requirements.

The scope for this certificate is associated with the following:Prefabricated scaffolds; cantilevered hoists (max. WLL 500kg materials only); ropes; gin wheels; safety nets and static lines; and bracket scaffolds (tank and formwork).

Participants will learn:

  • To plan and prepare work.
  • To erect scaffolding/equipment.
  • To inspect, repair and alter scaffolding/equipment.
  • To dismantle scaffolding/equipment and clean up.

Participants are able to apply for a Licence to perform high risk work “scaffolding” as issued by the state regulator under the Workplace Health and Safety Regulations 1998.
