24 hours face to face training, 8 hours study in own time and 4 hours on site assessment.

Participants will cover the following:

  • Refrigeration and air conditioning fundamentals as applicable to air conditioning split systems.
  • Refrigeration procedures for joining/connecting copper tube as applicable to air conditioning split systems.
  • Refrigerants - including ozone depletion, codes of good practice and R410A certification.
  • Refrigeration system components as applicable to air conditioning split systems.
  • Residential air conditioning including installation, commissioning and decommissioning as applicable to air conditioning split systems. 

Entry Requirements

  • Trade Certificate III in either electrical or plumbing.
  • Exposure within the last 3 years or currently working in the industry.
  • Your own hand and installation tools e.g. flaring tool, wrenches and appropraite hand tools; 410 gauges and multi meter.
  • On-site assessment tools e.g. vacuum pump, reclaim unit.
  • You will also be required to obtain your own training license from the Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC).  Assistance will be provided.
