Learn about commonly used medications and potential side effects, the safe administration of oral medication, drops, lotions and creams, and the relationship between medications and the body systems. This nationally accredited unit from the Community Services training package is an elective unit in a number of community services qualifications.

Participants undertaking this qualification need to attend a workshop for 3 short days.  For services that require differing times we can offer a 2 day workshop or evening classes.  Workshops will be customised as required. Participants will be given an assessment book to complete which combines practice sessions in the workplace with a nominated workplace supervisor and a number of written activities.

After approximately 4 weeks participants attend a 1 hour individual assessment session with their facilitator where they will participate in a simulated role play and undertake an oral assessment of competency. The date for this session is negotiated at the workshops.
