The Skills Institute is providing Dementia specific training for people currently employed within the aged care sector in Tasmania. This training will be provided state-wide including remote areas and will focus on a specific unit - Provide Support to People Living with Dementia (CHCAC319A ). 

Skills Gained:

Provide Support to People Living with Dementia (CHCAC319A ) - This unit describes the knowledge and skills required to provide support to clients with dementia in a variety of settings including family homes, community day settings and residential care. It is also suitable for workers new to the sector.

As direct care workers participants can complete the required assessments and receive a Statement of Attainment’ for the unit of competency. Assessments are comprised of three components, participation in workshop activities, written work and a workplace observation.  Or you may choose to attend only and not participate in the assessments and receive a ‘Statement of Attendance’.

Ancillary workers and volunteers are invited to attend training and receive a ‘Statement of Attendance’.

This course applies to workers in a range of aged and community services contexts working with people living with dementia.
