Statement of Attainment for “CPCCLDG3001A Licence to perform dogging” and an Interim Licence to Perform High Risk Work (Dogging).

Prerequisites

Participants must be from 18 years of age and comply with the requirements outlined in the application for high risk work (GF083) published by Workplace Standards Tasmania and have a satisfactory level of literacy and numeracy. Protective work wear must be worn for the practical assessment (safety boots, gloves and helmet).

Location

Can be delivered in the workplace or at the Clarence, Alanvale and South Burnie training facilities.

Cost

$1,820 per person (course prices for single employer groups are negotiable). This does not include the licence fee payable upon successful completion at Service Tasmania.

Duration

Six days.

The purpose of this course is to provide the underpinning knowledge and skills to perform dogging safely.  Successful participants are able to apply for a National High Risk Work Licence (Dogging) as issued by Workplace Standards Tasmania under the Work Health and Safety Act 2012.   Dogging is a pre-requisite for  those who wish to undertake rigging.

Participants will learn:

  • To perform inspection of equipment
  • About fibre ropes and knots
  • To plan and prepare work
  • About slinging techniques
  • About movement of loads and crane signals
  • About load placement
  • To perform load mass and weight calculations
