How cool does the job title ‘Mixologist’ sound? While this funky title might be relatively new, the art of cocktail making dates back to ancient times. Here at the Skills Institute our professional and highly experienced mixologists teach the art of mixing drinks to create the flavour and texture of traditional and contemporary cocktails.

This class offers a unique, interactive and fun insight into cocktail mixology. Participants will make (and sample) a number of cocktails using a variety of methods including muddling, floating, building, shaking, blending and stirring. This course will teach you what you need to know to feel at ease making cocktails.

Participants will learn:

  • The history of cocktail making and why some cocktails are still fashionable years later.
  • Cocktail mixing methods including modern innovations in cocktail making techniques.
  • To become familiar with liquors.
  • To use cocktail making utensils and glassware.
  • About presentation and garnishes.
  • Customer service skills.
