Outcome

A Statement of Attainment. Selected unit "Licence to operate a forklift truck" (TLILIC2001A).

Prerequisites

You must be 18 years of age or over for Worksafe Australia accreditation. You must wear appropriate clothing and footwear (PPE requirements).

Location

Burnie, Launceston and Hobart training facilities.

Cost

$390 per person. If travel to a worksite or assessment only is required please contact us for a quote. Contact Service Tasmania to apply for a Workplace Standards Forklift licence.

The purpose of this unit is to provide the underpinning knowledge and skills to safely operate a forklift truck.  It will prepare the participant for Worksafe Australia certification requirements.

Participants are able to apply for a Licence to operate a forklift as issued by the state regulator under the Workplace Health and Safety Regulations 1998 act.

Participants will learn:

  • To perform pre-operation checks.
  • To plan the work.
  • To check controls on equipment.
  • About shifting and stacking the load.
  • To perform loading and unloading.
  • To shut down the equipment.
  • To secure the site.
