This short course teaches the essential skills required to provide emergency pre-hospital care. This includes performing resuscitation and managing injury and/or illness until medical aid arrives.

Participants will learn:

  • About duty of care.
  • About infection control.
  • To manage cases of choking and near drowning.
  • To perform casualty assessment.
  • To perform CPR.
  • About the first aid kit, its contents and how to use them.
  • To complete documentation in the workplace.
  • To provide assistance with medical emergencies such as asthma.
